As well as gelatine, our sweets can also contain other ingredients that are not suitable for practising members of some faiths. These include: Carmine (E120) / Shellac (E904) / Beeswax (E901).

Most Lutti sweets are gluten-free but some sweets do contain certain starches, which means they are not suitable for a gluten-free diet.

Important! Some sweets that contain wheat starch are made of starch/gluten but, as the gluten content in the end product is less than 20 parts per million they can be marketed as gluten-free.

Gluten content of up to 20 parts per million can be marketed as gluten-free. Studies show that people with celiac disease are able to consume products with a gluten content less than 20 parts per million without any adverse effects.

You’re far from the only one to find unusually formed sweets in your Lutti bag. During the production process, the sweets are sprayed into moulds. During our checks we can always miss the odd unusually formed sweet that was not completely finished. We’re doing everything we can to minimise this. They do not constitute any risk to human health.
